Revitalise.
But decarbonise.
For many developers, ESG is an obligation to which lip service must be grudgingly paid.
This could not be less so for Solaris.

Mission
Like Wren and Nash, before us, we are driven by our vision of the kind of places we wish to put our name to and those after us remember kindly.
For us, these are places where communities can thrive, and residents create lifelong memories.
Our pledge on decarbonisation:
Most, if not all, of the projects we undertake are new build, this creates a sizeable carbon impact. (Embodied carbon in new build construction accounts for 29% of all carbon in the built environment.) We thus have a responsibility to ensure that the impact of our projects is kept as low as possible.
Our key metrics of success will always be how successful we have been able to do this. Not only testing our own inventiveness but the alignment of this vision alongside the investment funds with whom we partner.
When we fall short of our aim, we will be transparent, learning lessons to improve future performance rather than burying disappointing results.
Our social and governance procedures are aligned with this commitment, ensuring that our supply chain remains in step with our vision.
Sustainability, environmental responsibility and the development of socially robust places and communities form the cornerstone of our philosophy.

ESG
Our ESG Checklist.
We apply this checklist, which we do not view as definitive, as we progress each development.
Have we adopted design-first principles that prioritise sustainability, such as passive design strategies for energy efficiency, natural lighting, and ventilation?

ZEBRA
A Zebra company is, at once, both ‘black’ and ‘white’ – pursuing a level of profit expected by its shareholders, but simultaneously placing proper priority on the manner in which it achieves this profitability.
To do this, Zebras factor environmental and social impacts, sustainability and similar concerns into their strategies. Solaris is intrinsically a Zebra company. Sustainability, environmental responsibility and the development of socially robust places and communities form the cornerstone of our philosophy. With concern for these issues growing stronger by the day, we are confident in our ability to thrive in the jungle of contemporary development.

”Solaris come to the table armed with viable and feasible projects that will not only meet our criteria for ROI, but will do so in a way that we can all take pride in.“
